‘L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE’ (vertaald: de advocaat van de duivel) is de titel van het nieuwe studioalbum van Fleddy Melculy, dat op vrijdag 30 oktober 2026 via Sony Music zal verschijnen en waarop een aantal verrassende gastmuzikanten meedoet, waaronder Alex Agnew en Marco Roelofs.

 

Op deze vijfde langspeler – de opvolger van ‘ANTICHLIST’ (2023) en wellicht de hardste tot nu toe – neemt Fleddy Melculy opnieuw geen blad voor de mond. Enthousiaster dan ooit worden heilige huisjes vakkundig gesloopt. Ditmaal moeten onder meer tributebands, Oasis, wielertoeristen en slackers eraan geloven. Wederom wordt niets of niemand ontzien in de messcherpe teksten, die naar alle verwachting opnieuw voor de nodige ophef zullen zorgen. Niet voor niets schreef de band het nummer ‘Stop Met Zagen’, met een bloedserieuze ondertoon: Fleddy is het nu écht beu dat iedereen overal en altijd over klaagt. Advocaat van de duivel, inderdaad...

 

"Er gaan wel heel wat mensen zijn die hier helemaal niet mee kunnen lachen", steekt frontman Jeroen Camerlynck meteen fel van wal. "Fleddy Melculy is nu meer dan ooit nodig om tegenwind te bieden in een wereld waarin alles versmolten lijkt tot een onverschillige, grijze massa. Lethargie overheerst; niemand lijkt nog ergens een f*ck om te geven en verkiest apathisch en hersendood op zijn smartphone te scrollen. De huidige samenleving verkeert in een zombieachtige toestand waarin heel vaak ‘whatever’ te zien en te horen is. Op ons nieuwe album ‘L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE’ delen we opnieuw enkele broodnodige en goed gemikte oorvijgen en muilperen uit om de goegemeente eens flink wakker te schudden: een ferme schop tegen de schenen en een harde trap op de lange tenen. Fleddy Melculy is eens te meer het duiveltje dat zegt wat men liever niet wil horen."

 

Fleddy Melculy grossiert in satire. Het vijftal observeert de wereld met een frisse en kritische punkrockblik en legt middels een flinke dosis sarcastische humor zowel groot als klein dagelijks leed bloot, en schuwt daarbij zelfspot en relativering niet. Jeroen: "Ook onze nieuwe plaat fungeert weer als een voorhamer die de nimmer eindigende reeks dagelijkse ergernissen sloopt – hoe onnozel het onderwerp soms ook mag lijken. De luisteraar zit gniffelend met een smile op zijn bakkes. Tot het besef indaalt dat waar Fleddy allemaal over zingt, hem eigenlijk ook mateloos stoort. Fleddy Melculy is L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE. Dit jaar viert Fleddy Melculy zijn tienjarig jubileum. Sinds de oprichting in 2016 bracht de band vier studioalbums uit, waaronder het goud gecertificeerde debuut ‘Helgië’. Dat album verscheen in januari van dit jaar opnieuw als ‘Helgië REDUX’: volledig geremixt en geremasterd, met vernieuwd artwork en twee bonustracks. Daarnaast staan er twee EP’s en drie liveplaten op de teller; honderden shows in België, Nederland en Frankrijk; een online buzz van formaat; en het meermaals georganiseerde eigen festival 'Fleddypalooza'.

 

Frontman Jeroen: “En dan zijn er nog die bucketlistvinkjes en ambitieuze doelen waarvan we ons stilaan afvragen wat we nog moeten bewijzen – aan het publiek, maar vooral aan onszelf. Het antwoord is simpel: er is nog genoeg serieuze en banale shit om ons druk over te maken. Er harde stampende songs van maken, ze overgieten met die typische Pajotse humor, op plaat knallen en vervolgens podia slopen: dat is hoe wij het ventileren.”

 

Fleddy Melculy is een van de hardst werkende ‘heavy’-bands van de Benelux. Na de lancering van de hit ‘T-shirt van Metallica’ in januari 2016 - die als Fleddy’s eigen Big Bang fungeerde - groeide het fenomeen in rap tempo uit tot een van de meest succesvolle metalgroepen van de Benelux ooit. Fleddy Melculy is inmiddels een gevestigde waarde, mede dankzij vier uitstekend verkochte studioalbums (waarvan er twee op nummer 1 in de Belgische albumlijst Ultratop binnenkwamen en twee op nummer 2) en ruim 350 shows in de Benelux.

 

Daarbovenop volgde een zegetocht langs grote zomerfestivals, waaronder Pinkpop, (meermaals) Graspop Metal Meeting, Zwarte Cross en Alcatraz Metal Festival; Werchter Classic, Parklife, Pukkelpop, Jera On Air, Groezrock, Paaspop, Rock Zottegem, Crammerock en talloze andere. Het vijftal is een goed geoliede machine die podium na podium inpalmt met zijn verbluffende Nederlandstalige songteksten en shows die jaloersmakend retestrak staan als Johnny’s en Marina’s op een hardstyle party.

2026: 10 Years of Fleddy Melculy, 10 Years of Helgië

2026 will be a celebratory year for the Belgian metal band Fleddy Melculy because not only is the band celebrating its 10th anniversary, but their debut album HELGË is also blowing out the same number of candles.

It's been quiet around the band for a while, with their latest feat being a bombshell show at Alcatraz '24, but in the spring of '26 the band will once again tour Belgium and the Netherlands for a number of exclusive shows where they will play HELGIË in its entirety. What makes it even more special is that the tour consists almost entirely of small venues and clubs where they also started in 2016. The ideal opportunity to see the band again in such a small setting. Back to the rootsi!

And as icing on the cake, Fleddy Melculy is re-releasing HELGIË under the name HELGIË REDUX. The album, which received a gold award in 2023 for over 10,000 units sold, has been completely remixed and remastered and now sounds as it always should have. The album includes two bonus tracks and will be released on January 23, 2026, on vinyl, CD, and all streaming platforms.

And that's not all: they are currently hard at work on a new full-length album. The successor to ANTICHLIST will be available in the fall of 2026. In 2026, Fleddy Melculy will be back in full force, and you'll know it.

‘L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE’ (translated: The Devil’s Advocate) is the title of Fleddy Melculy’s new studio album, which will be released on Friday, October 30, 2026, via Sony Music and features a number of surprising guest musicians, including Alex Agnew and Marco Roelofs.

 

On this fifth full-length album—the successor to ‘ANTICHLIST’ (2023) and perhaps the heaviest to date—Fleddy Melculy once again does not mince words. More enthusiastically than ever, sacred cows are expertly demolished. This time, tribute bands, Oasis, cycling tourists, and slackers, among others, are the targets. Once again, nothing and no one is spared in the razor-sharp lyrics, which are expected to cause quite a stir again. It is not without reason that the band wrote the song ‘Stop Met Zagen’ (Stop Complaining), with a deadly serious undertone: Fleddy is truly fed up with everyone complaining about everything all the time. Devil's advocate, indeed...

 

"There are going to be quite a few people who won't find this funny at all," frontman Jeroen Camerlynck launches into a fierce tirade right from the start. "Fleddy Melculy is needed now more than ever to offer a counter-wind in a world where everything seems fused into an indifferent, grey mass. Lethargy prevails; no one seems to give a fuck about anything anymore and prefers to scroll apathetically and brain-dead on their smartphone. Current society is in a zombie-like state where ‘whatever’ is very often seen and heard. On our new album ‘L’AVOCAT DU DIABLE’, we are once again delivering some much-needed and well-aimed slaps and punches to give the community a good wake-up call: a firm kick to the shins and a hard kick to the toes. This year, Fleddy Melculy celebrates its tenth anniversary. Since its founding in 2016, the band has released four studio albums, including the gold-certified debut ‘Helgië’. That album was re-released in January of this year as ‘Helgië REDUX’: fully remixed and remastered, with renewed artwork and two bonus tracks. Additionally, they have two EPs and three live albums to their name; hundreds of shows in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France; massive online buzz; and their own festival, 'Fleddypalooza', which they have organized multiple times.

 

Frontman Jeroen: “And then there are those bucket list ticks and ambitious goals, about which we are starting to wonder what we still need to prove – to the audience, but especially to ourselves. The answer is simple: there is still plenty of serious and banal shit to get worked up about. Turning it into hard, stomping songs, dousing them with that typical Pajotse humor, smashing it onto record, and then tearing up stages: that is how we vent.”

 

Fleddy Melculy is one of the hardest-working ‘heavy’ bands in the Benelux. Following the release of the hit ‘T-shirt van Metallica’ in January 2016 – which served as Fleddy’s own Big Bang – the phenomenon rapidly grew into one of the most successful metal groups in the Benelux ever.
